Nivea Express Hydration Body Lotion Review

Price I Paid
£3.57 quite a cheap moisturiser for the quantity

Design
Note - since i bought this product the lid has changed to a navy blue colour but the ingredients are all the same.  An average looking bottle.

Colour
A brilliant white looking cream

Texture

I was pretty disappointed with the texture of this product, it's quite runny more like single cream.  Although it was plastered with statements such as "express hydration" "fast absorbing""absorbs in seconds" and "sensationally light" i actually found it to take 5 or so mins to fully sink into my skin which is the same amount of time as my usual moisturiser Palmer's cocoa butter so i don't think there is anything particularly express about this!   I do think this is the perfect product for someone who has naturally slightly oily skin and wants to just add a little extra moisture as when it dries, it does dry "sensationally light" although to me that means non existent and my skin isn't too bad to begin with.

Smell

The smell of this product is not too offensive slightly flowery similar to every other Nivea product if you know the smell.  If you have a very good sense of smell you might notice it is slightly more of a chemical smell than most other moisturisers.

Ingredients

I had a little bit of a laugh at the ingredients of this product to be honest.  On the bottle it raves about it's fantastic "Hydra IQ" formulation.  However if you break the words down it means hydra - water and IQ - intelligence quotient.  Therefore all this really stands for is "a specified quantity of intelligent water" so i guess that isn't really as intelligent as it might at first sound!
Furthmore, the first ingredient on the back is Aqua.. which is surprise surprise water!!  Water in itself is not very moisturising so it would probably be the glycerin which is the second ingredient that does all the moisturising work.
It claims to include sea minerals, which what i gather from the ingredients list seems to be salt.
Then there is a long list of other chemical sounding ingredients that i have no clue about to be honest!

Overall Reaction
An okay moisturiser especially considering the price, if you want something extremely light.  Probably something i will eventually use up but not something i would re-purchase.
I would rate this: 3/10
