My favourite random collection of life hacks so far!!
I discovered this site recently with 50 clever ideas for making life a bit easier. I really like number 20 which is how to separate egg yolks from the whites using a water bottle and number 41 which involves lighting a stick of spaghetti to reach the wick of difficult candles without burning yourself!
Check it out by clicking here
Here are a few other random tips that I have found online that I think are quite clever not included in the list:
-If cutting up a fruit for a lunchbox (e.g an apple) slice it up vertically and tie it back together with a rubber band to prevent the fruit going brown during the day!
- I don't know if this would work in practice but I have been told that if you are in a rush, boil potatoes in their skins and then once they are cooked immediately drop them into ice cold water for a second and the skin will just fall off!
-An easier way to peel a banana! Open it from the opposite end to the stem by squeezing, apparently this is the way that monkeys do it and maybe us humans should learn something from them!!
-This guy shows you how to easily de-seed a pomegranate. This technique is cool, he does alot of talking in this video so fast forward to 1min40 for the actual demonstration.
- If you are going to the beach, put your phone/camera into a ziplock bag to protect it. Put valuables in an old sunscreen tube or tissue box as people rarely steal those!
- If you need to unseal an envelope to add something forgotten, put it in the freezer for 45 mins and the seal will unstick without ripping.
-Parked your car on a street you haven't heard of? Take a photo of your car and the street name on your phone so you can easily locate it later.
-Put glowsticks in balloons for instant atmospheric garden party lights.
-Aloe vera gel/cold wet teabags on sunburn.
-use a staple remover to open a keyring instead of breaking your nails.
